We are also pleased to announce that our first Community Education
BASICS workshop will be held December 1 – 2, 2005. Our featured guest
will be well known community education author, professor and proponent:
Jack Minzey.
Mr. Minzey is a sought after lecturer at education
conferences across the U.S. and abroad. Among his many awards are
the Eastern Michigan University Distinguished Alumni Award and the
Outstanding Service and Distinguished Service Awards from the National
Community Education Association.
The BASICS workshop will focus on imperative components and primary
focal points of the community education philosophy. NCCE training
strategies and processes are applicable to most any organization.
They are simple, understated truths about how working together, we
really can better educate young people and build stronger, more vibrant
communities everywhere.
Online registration will be available beginning Friday, October 21,
and our registration cutoff for this workshop is Friday, November
19, 2005. The workshop will be held at the National Center for Community
Education (NCCE), 1017 Avon Street in Flint, Michigan. The cost of
this 2-day workshop is $275/person. Participants will be responsible
for their own travel and hotel accommodations. Please contact NCCE
for a list of suggested hotels.
