Models and Case Studies

The community school movement is far more diverse than when it first emerged nearly sixty years ago. Because each community school is implemented reflecting individual communities and their agencies, there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of models. This section contains information and narratives describing different models. There is even an opportunity for you to submit exemplary models.

The models are characterized as either a District, an Agency, or a School.

District:  the model presented represents a total school district.

Agency:   the model is implemented primarily by an agency (i.e., human service agency, church, consortium/collaboration)

School:   the model is implemented primarily by the local school
